MARCH 20, 2008 - ARCHEON PREMIER EDITION AND SIGNING TOUR

The standard edition of the Archeon Tarot (deck and little white book) is no longer available from US Games. The Archeon Tarot is now available only in the "premier" edition which comes with the deck, instruction book, and card layout sheet.

Signed decks ordered from this site will now be the "premier" edition boxed version.

Timothy Lantz, artist and author of the Archeon Tarot, will be appearing at the following events in 2008.

He will be signing and meeting people at his table at each location, so stop on by and say hello. Additionally, there will be a selection of prints, books and other current projects on hand for sale and display.

JANUARY 24, 2005 - WINTER UPDATE

Greetings and Happy New Year!

2005 is almost a month old and so it seems its time for another update. The big news this time is that the Archeon Tarot is finally going to press! The final details have all been taken care of and as of last week I’ve signed off on the proof copies.

There may be a bit of behind the scenes stuff with U.S. Games still, but it was their intention to get the files to the printer by the end of this month. The printing will be done in Italy, though off hand I don’t know the name of the printer.

Once the decks have been printed, they will be shipped across the ocean for distribution to retail outlets. I’m told the timeline for this is about a month, so depending on when the printer schedules the print run, you can probably expect the deck to be available sometime in April.

Unfortunately, there is a bit of sad news to mention. Leah Samul, who had been doing such a fantastic job editing the book, had to drop the project due to some unfortunate family circumstances. I really enjoyed working with her and I’d just like to thank her for all the work she completed. I know the book is much better due to her efforts.

Picking up where Leah left off, is Lynn Araujo, who has done a wonderful job in getting the text to the finish line.

On the website, there’s a new offering in the online Shoppe A new fine art print featuring the 22 Major Arcana and you can get a look at it here

I’m also contemplating making other merchandise available, so if there’s something you’d like to see, send an e-mail to lantz@archeontarot.com and let me know!

Also don’t forget to sign up and become part of the Archeon Tarot community on the forum!

NOVEMBER 10, 2004 - STYGIAN DARKNESS NO MORE!

Now, before I cause panic and disappointment, let me explain. Due to the increasing sense that people were getting the wrong impression of the deck based upon the name, I’ve opted to change the title from the “Stygian Darkness Tarot” to “The Archeon Tarot.”.

As for the cards themselves, there have been a few changes. The font has been selected for the text, there’s a new card border and about a dozen of the cards have undergone some last minute tweaking. All of which, I think, make the deck even better than it was previously.

A new discussion forum has been added to the site! Feel free to sign up and post questions or comments about the Archeon Tarot, or anything at all really.

As of now, the cards are being prepared for the printer and the book is in the hands of the editor. Provided everything remains on schedule, I’ll be able to announce a printing date sometime in December or January.

AUGUST 10, 2004 - OFF TO THE PUBLISHER!

As of last week, all the images and text files have been delivered to U.S. Games!

Card/Text Update - With the files now in the hands of the art director, the deck is one step closer to printing. Next up, the files will be reviewed to spot any changes or corrections which may need to be done.

Web site Update - Once again the site has undergone a revision, this time to match the over all redesign of the main Stygian Darkness site.

Shoppe Update - New in the shoppe, SINGLE CARD ART PRINTS! People have been asking for them so they are now available. Each print measures 8 x 10 inches and features the artwork from a single card without the card border. These prints are high quality reproductions, suitable for framing and sell for $15 with free shipping!

JUNE 8, 2004 - Major Updates!

Web site Update - The Stygian Darkness Tarot Project Web site has undergone a bit of a redesign. Hopefully these changes will make the site easier to navigate, as well as provide a clearer overview of the project.

Card Update - All cards in the deck have been completed. This includes the addition of the current style border, which is an update from the original plain (white marble) style. The only thing remaining to be done with the card images is the CMYK conversion.

Text Update - Work has begun on the accompanying text that will be included with the Tarot. So far about half of the major arcana have been written. (Samples available in the text excerpt page)

Shoppe Update - The Original limited run prints (featuring the old style card border) are no longer available. Two new promotional prints are currently available. The CafePress merchandise is now unavailable until designs featuring the current card style can be completed.

Art Book Update - stay tuned for more details.

FEB 24, 2004 - The entire deck has been completed!

(First draft only - some cards will be replaced with new versions over the next few weeks. Stay tuned...)

DEC 17, 2003 - The Tarot Project officially has a home!

U.S. Games Systems Inc. has offered me a publishing contract for The Stygian Darkness Tarot, and I have accepted.

While no date has been set as of yet, plans are for the Stygian Darkness Tarot to be in stores in late 2004 or early 2005 and should retail for about $16 US.

Special THANKS to Eden and Kat for pushing me to submit my work for publication!
